India, US discuss deeper aircraft carrier tech cooperation at key naval meeting

India and the US discussed cooperation in aircraft carrier technology during the eighth meeting of the India-US Joint Working Group on Aircraft Carrier Technology Cooperation (JWGACTC), held recently.
A Navy spokesperson said the two sides discussed "future cooperation under various aspects of aircraft carrier technology." A joint statement was also issued after the meeting.
During the meeting, US Navy Rear Admiral Casey Moton, Programme Executive Officer, Aircraft Carriers, highlighted the importance of the joint working group and the progress it has made over the last 10 years.
Both sides hailed the "remarkable work" undertaken by the group towards valuable information exchange on aircraft carriers.

The six-member US delegation also visited Goa, where professional interactions on aircraft carrier operations and technical aspects were undertaken with Indian Navy's aviation specialists, a tweet from the Indian Navy read.
The meeting marked yet another significant milestone in the ongoing cooperation between the two countries in the field of aircraft carrier technology, the Navy added.
India and the US have a robust partnership in aircraft carrier technology, with regular high-level engagements and a decade of sustained collaboration. The JWGACTC was formed with the intention of facilitating the exchange of information, best practices, and technological advancements between the two navies.
Defence
