‘Ghaatak’ took five years to make. The film’s director Rajkumar Santoshi got busy with ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ and ‘Barsaat’ and couldn’t devote time to the project. Meanwhile, Raveena Tandon, who was finalised as the lead, left the film after shooting for 10 days. Meenakshi Sheshadri was later cast in her place.
