Encounter Breaks Out In Jammu And Kashmir's Kishtwar; 3-4 Terrorists Trapped
Kishtwar: An encounter broke out between security personnel and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district on Thursday. According to reports, three to four terrorists are believed to be trapped in the area.
Security forces launched a search operation upon receiving intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the Singhpora area of Kishtwar's Chatroo.
"Exchange of fire started between Security Forces and terrorists in the Singhpora area of Chatroo in Kishtwar," Jammu and Kashmir Police said as reported by ANI.
More details are still awaited.
Last week, six terrorists were killed in two separate encounters in the Keller area of Shopian and Nadar area of Tral in Pulwama district.
Keller Encounter:
On May 14, three terrorists affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba were killed in an encounter in Shopian. The operation was codenamed as 'Operation Keller'. According to sources, one of the terrorists was identified as Shahid Kuttay, son of Mohd Yousuf Kuttay and a resident of Chotipora Heerpora in Shopian.
Tral Encounter:
Three terrorists belonging to the Jaish-eMohammed (JeM) terrorist group were eliminated in Tral on May 15. These terrorists were identified as Asif Ahmed Sheikh, Amir Nazir Wani, and Yawar Ahmed Bhat.
