The Jharkhand government has taken a big decision. Now many essential medicines cannot be sold at medical stores in the state without a QR code. The government has also given the reason for this new rule.
Health Minister Irfan Ansari has taken a big decision to curb the fake drug business in Jharkhand. He has clearly said that pain relievers, vitamin supplements, diabetes control medicines, contraceptive pills and antiplatelet, thyroid, anti-allergy and other medicines will not be sold in the state without QR code. By scanning the QR code, important information like manufacturing license, batch number related to the medicine can be obtained. The QR code will be the wall between fake and real medicine.
Giving a final warning to the drug shopkeepers, the Health Minister said that if any shop is found operating without registration, then the license will be cancelled while sealing it. Let us tell you that the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has made barcode or QR code mandatory on 300 types of medicines from August 1, 2023. You can get complete information about the medicine by scanning the code with a smart phone.
Officers who have been posted at one place for three years will be punished
The Health Minister has said that the officers who have been posted at one place for years are spoiling the system. Now they will be transferred. The officers who have been posted at one place for three years or more are increasing corruption by colluding. There is no place for corruption in the Health Department now.
Food and drug testing labs in Dumka, Palamu and Jamshedpur
The Health Minister said that drug testing labs will be set up in Dumka, Jamshedpur and Palamu to check the quality of medicines. Along with this, food testing labs will also be set up in the said districts to check adulteration in food items. The drug testing lab and food testing lab operating in Ranchi will also be made state-of-the-art. Food items being sold in all malls, hotels and restaurants will be checked. Raid will be conducted by running a campaign across the state. Immediate action will be taken against adulterators.
