PM Modi Offers Prayers at Karni Mata Temple in Deshnoke Amid Strategic Visit to Border District
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today visited the sacred Karni Mata Temple in Deshnoke, Rajasthan, where he performed special prayers amid chants and rituals. Known as the divine incarnation of Goddess Durga, Karni Mata is worshipped for granting devotees’ wishes. This temple, located in the border district of Bikaner, is unique for housing over 25,000 revered rats, considered her spiritual descendants, who share the sacred offerings that are later distributed as prasada. This visit holds major strategic and symbolic significance. Taking place a month after the Pahalgam terror attack and the launch of Operation Sindoor, Modi's prayer ceremony comes as India asserts its strength in the face of cross-border threats. During the 1971 Indo-Pak war, Pakistan had targeted the nearby Nal Airbase, making the temple’s location even more symbolic in the context of national security.PM Modi is also scheduled to address a massive public gathering — his first major rally in Rajasthan post-Operation Sindoor — and announce development projects worth ₹26,000 crore for Bikaner. He is joined by Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma and several Union Ministers. Modi's spiritual gesture combined with a strong political message underscores India's unity, faith, and unwavering stance against terrorism.
