Odisha Government Appoints Sudhakar Burgi as New OSSC Chairman

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has appointed Sudhakar Burgi, a retired IAS officer and current member of the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC), as the new Chairman of the OSSC.

The decision follows the resignation of the former Chairman, Abhay, which was accepted with immediate effect.

In an official notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department, the government stated, “After careful consideration of the representation dated 19.05.2025 of Shri Abhay, Government have been pleased to accept the resignation of Shri Abhay, Chairman, Odisha Staff Selection Commission with immediate effect.”

A second notification confirmed Burgi’s appointment, stating, “Shri Sudhakar IAS(Retd.), Member, Odisha Staff Selection Commission is allowed to act as the Chairman, Odisha Staff Selection Commission, Bhubaneswar in addition to his own duties until further orders.”

Burgi will continue to perform his existing responsibilities alongside his new role as OSSC Chairman until further instructions are issued by the government.
