Firm That Sponsored Jyoti Malhotra’s Trips Has Pakistan Links – Here’s How

YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who is being investigated for allegedly passing sensitive information to Pakistan, visited several countries on sponsored trips. According to reports, investigative agencies are particularly interested in a UAE-based travel company.

As per India Today, several of Jyoti’s videos were sponsored by the firm Wego, which also operates in Pakistan.

Wego maintains offices in Singapore and Dubai and operates legally in Pakistan under a proper travel agency licence, with accreditation from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). While no direct connection has been established between Wego and Pakistani funding, the company’s presence in Pakistan has drawn attention in this investigation.

The Haryana-based travel vlogger is currently in police custody. Investigative agencies are analysing all her sponsors. Earlier today, Hisar District Court remanded Jyoti Malhotra to four days in police custody.

Investigators suspect that Jyoti was an easy target, tempted by promises of quick financial gain and an extravagant lifestyle. Sources indicate she believed her trips to Pakistan would boost her YouTube channel’s viewership.

Jyoti Malhotra faced questioning over allegations of sharing intelligence with Pakistan. She reportedly met Pakistani official Ahsan-ur-Rahim in Delhi, made two trips to Pakistan, and transmitted classified information. During initial questioning, she told investigators that she visited Pakistan’s High Commission in Delhi in 2023 to obtain a visa, where she met someone named Ahsan-ur-Rahim, who was also referred to as Danish.

Harish Malhotra, whose daughter was detained by Haryana Police on espionage charges, confirmed that she created YouTube content and had travelled to Pakistan. He has requested that authorities return the mobile phones confiscated during the investigation.
