Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Thursday tried to blame India for terrorism in the country, claiming that the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) are “Indian proxies”.

Asif claimed that he will submit “complete evidence” to prove India's alleged involvement in the attack on a school bus in Balochistan's Khuzdar district. The bomb blast in Khuzdar on Quetta-Karachi highway reportedly killed six people, including three schoolgirls while 40 others were injured.

However, India slammed Pakistan for trying to hoodwink the world, pointing out that blaming India for its reputation as global epicentre of terrorism has become Pakistan's "second nature".

"India rejects the baseless allegations made by Pakistan regarding Indian involvement with the incident in Khuzdar," Randhir Jaiswal, the spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs said.

Speaking to Geo News, Asif alleged that India is financing both the BLA and TTP and that he will “corroborate whatever he has claimed.” He then went on to allege that the allegation about Pakistan's involvement in the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians was “unsubstantiated”.

During Operation Sindoor, Defence Minister Asif went live on CNN, claiming Pakistan downed five Indian jets, including a Rafale. However, when anchor Becky Anderson confronted him about evidence, Asif said it was all over social media. "On Indian social media, not on our social media. The debris of these jets fell... it's all over Indian media," he said.

Anderson called Asif out, reminding him that he is the defence minister of Pakistan. "You’re the defence minister, sir. The reason to talk to you today, sir, is not to talk about content all over social media. I'm sorry," she said.

The Pakistani defence minister was trolled for his gaffe on global TV, with once user saying, "No wonder — US troops took out Osama bin Laden right near Pakistani army quarters, and they only heard about it later from the news!"
