MPBSE Second Exam: Want To Make Another Attempt? Go Ahead Fearlessly
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Many students of Class 10 and 12 of the MP Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) wish to withdraw their forms for the second examination. They were going to take the exam to improve their marks and grades they got in the first examination this year. This is going to be the first such second examination of the MPBSE Board.
The reason for their withdrawal of forms is that fear lest they fail to perform better than their first examination. They also fear that they might fail. The results of the Second Exam would be treated as final. Students are calling the board’s officials as well as the Board’s Helpline wanting to know how they can withdraw their forms.
From this year, MPBSE will organise a ‘Second Examination’ instead of a supplementary examination. The decision has been taken in keeping with the New Education Policy -2020. Besides students who have failed in one or more subjects, those who want to improve their marks can also take the second exam.
The second examination for Class 10 will begin from June 17 and continue till June 26. The second examination for Class 12 will start from June 17 and conclude on July 5. Online filling of application began on May 7 and was to last till May 21. The last date, however, has not been extended up to May 25.
Around 2.21 lakh students have failed the Class 12 examination. The number of students who have failed in Class 10 is 2.75 lakh. “All of them are eligible to appear in the Second Exam and so are students who have cleared the examination but want to improve their scores,” an MPBSE official said. The students, however, are confused.
According to sources, around 15% of the callers on the MPBSE Helpline want to know how they can withdraw their forms. “There is no procedure for withdrawal of forms. Yes, they can choose not to appear,” an official said.
MPBSE PRO, Bhupesh Gupta said "We wish to clarify that in case of students who take the Second Examination, the higher score will be treated as final. If a student fails or scores less than the main examination, his or her old scores would remain valid".
