Himanshu claims gold in judo
Himanshu claimed gold medal in the men -60kg weight category on the concluding day of the State Judo Championship at the Sector 34 Sports Complex. Kapil Damai claimed the second position and Prince Katariya finished third.
In the -66kg event, Karan Pratap Singh claimed the gold medal, followed by Subeg Singh at second and Sumit Thakur at third. Prince defeated Fardeen to win the -73kg gold, while Arpit Sinngroha and Harman Singh finished joint third. In the -90kg category, Aman defeated Abhiraj and Nitin Kumar claimed the third position. In the -100kg, Anuj Kumar defeated Amardeep to claim the top position, and Uday Singh finished third. Malkiat Singh won the +100kg event.
Angel Yadav won the -48kg event in the women category by defeating Aarti. Kamini Yadav and Gaytri finished at joint third position. Mehak Singh won the -52kg event, followed by Parul Sharma at second, and Manpreet and Hasrat Kaushal at third, while Navroop defeated Pooja to win the -57kg final. Gurmeet and Ifra were joint third. In the girls’ junior event, Sapna defeated Aafia to win the -44kg event, followed by Aarti and Manisha at third position. Angel Yadav won the -48kg event by overpowering Aarti, while Vanishika Dhiman and Anshika Sharma finished at joint third spot. Mehak Singh won the -52 kg final by defeating Manpreet, while Hasrat and kajal claimed joint third position
In the -57kg, Navroop claimed the title by defeating Aanchal. Ishika and Ishmeeta claimed third position. Saniya defeated Chahat to win the -63kg final, followed by Harshietaa Rohilia and Jaspreet at joint third position. Jaishree defeated Tarandeep to win the -70kg final, and Aanchal along with Ridhima claimed the joint third position.
Saina Handa defeated Purav to finish atop in the -78kg final, and Tanishka Dhiman finished third. Divanshi won the +78kg event, followed by Jiya Panita and Janvi Verma. In the boys’ junior category, Vivek Kumar defeated Saiyam Choudhary to win the -55kg final, followed by Deevanshu Katariya and Prince at third position. Himanshu defeated Kapil to win the -60kg final, while Mangal Bhadur Thapa and Roshan Kumar shared third position.
Subeg Singh won the -66kg gold medal by defeating Karanpreet Singh, while Harshit and Yash Choudhary claimed joint third position. Fardeen defeated Arpit Singrodha to win the -73kg final, followed by Neeraj Sharma and Amit Kumar at third position. Hardik Sachdeva defeated Pranav Vohra to win the -90kg final and Mridul Goyal finished third. Anuj Kumra won the -100kg final by defeating Aarav Kurl, and Dhruv finished third.
