CID to probe its confidential info leak case

The Police have transferred to the CID itself a case regarding an investigation into the leaking of its information and documents. The CID will now itself investigate the matter. According to sources, the police headquarters has issued a direction in this regard.

The police had started investigating the case after an FIR was lodged in February 2025 against unknown persons for allegedly leaking the Himachal Pradesh CID’s information and documents. It was alleged that someone had unlawfully leaked the CID’s confidential information that was now being used to defame it as well as the state government. A case under Sections 59, 60, 61, 336(4) and 353(2) of the BNS has been registered.
