Man gets 20-year RI for sexually abusing minor daughter

Additional Sessions Judge (Fast Track Special Court under POCSO Act), Yamunanagar, has awarded 20 years of rigorous imprisonment to a man for sexually abusing his 15-year-old minor daughter.

The ASJ also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on convict Prince Pathak, resident of a colony of Jagadhri. In default of payment of fine, the convict shall further undergo an imprisonment for six months.

According to the information available, a woman living in a rented house in a colony of Jagadhri had lodged a complaint at City police station, Jagadhri, on August 24, 2024. She told the police that she had two sons and two daughters.

She said that her husband was addicted to alcohol. “My husband sexually abused our 15-year-old daughter on July 15, 2024, when I was not at home. She was unable to tell about the incident at that time due to fear. But later, she told me about it,” the complainant told the police.

The police registered a case against Prince under Section 6 of the POCSO Act and arrested him.
