Bhool Chuk Maaf Review: This Rajkummar Rao & Wamiqa Gabbi Starrer Is A Fun, Easy-Breezy Movie That Surely Deserves A Watch

Bhool Chuk Maaf Review: Theatre, OTT and then back to theatre, yes that’s what happened with Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi starrer Bhool Chuk Maaf which has finally hit the big screens today (May 23, 2025). The trailer of the film was strictly average, and the songs too didn’t create a great buzz. However, as we say, never judge a book by its cover, we should also not judge a film by its trailer. Well, Bhool Chuk Maaf has turned out to be a better film than we expected. Read on to know more…

The movie revolves around Ranjan (Rajkummar Rao) and Titli (Wamiqa Gabbi). They are madly in love with each other, but Titli’s father is looking for a groom who has a government job. After a lot of jugaad, Ranjan gets a government job, but he gets stuck in a time loop. He is going to get married on the 30th, and on the 29th it is his haldi ceremony. He sleeps on the 29th night and wakes up on the same day again, and this happens with him for many days. What’s the reason behind this? Has Ranjan done something wrong? Will he be able to get married to Titli or not? To know the answers of these questions, you need to watch the film.

Bhool Chuk Maaf is written and directed by Karan Sharma who is known for directing the first season of Huma Qureshi starrer Maharani. The film starts on a decent note, but once, Ranjan gets stuck in the time loop it becomes a laugh riot. There are many scenes in the movie that will make you laugh out loud, and even if you are not laughing there will be a little smile on your face always.

Sharma gets all the elements of a romantic-comedy in Bhool Chuk Maaf, and he ends the movie with a very nice message. When it comes to time loop movies in India, we have mainly watched thrillers, and that’s why this movie stands out, as it is a romantic-comedy. A special mention to cinematographer Sudeep Chatterjee as he has captured Benaras beautifully!

Bhool Chuk Maaf Review – Actors’ Performances

Rajkummar Rao as Ranjan is simply amazing in the movie. His expressions are hilarious, and the way he mouths the dialogues it will surely make you laugh. After watching the trailer of Bhool Chuk Maaf, many people felt that Rao is doing the same kind of comedy roles. But, this character is very different from his previous roles, especially in the Stree franchise.

Wamiqa Gabbi looks stunning in the film, and has also acted wonderfully. We have mainly watched her in serious roles, but she proves that she is a versatile actress and can do comedy effortlessly. The way she says ‘Babuuu’ in the film, it will make men go weak in their knees.

While Rajkummar and Wamiqa are very good in their respective roles, the supporting cast is also excellent in the movie. Seema Pahwa, Raghubir Yadav, Zakir Hussain, Ishtiyak Khan, Anubha Fatehpuria, Jay Thakkar, Pragati Mishra, Dheerendra Gautam, Akash Makhija, and Sanjay Mishra all of them take the movie a notch higher with their fantastic performance.

Bhool Chuk Maaf Review – Music

The songs of Bhool Chuk Maaf are decent. None of them have become a chartbuster, and the recreated version of Chor Bazari also doesn’t leave a strong mark. Dhanashree Verma features in a song in the film titled ting Ling Sajna, and while she dances well, she fails to get the oomph factor in it.

Bhool Chuk Maaf Review – Final Verdict

Overall, Bhool Chuk Maaf is an entertaining romantic-comedy. It is a fun light-hearted movie that you can watch it with your family and enjoy.
