Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the Border Security Force (BSF) for their bravery, dedication, and commitment during an award ceremony. He said the medals awarded represent the courage and hard work of every BSF personnel serving on the borders and within the country to ensure internal security. Shah recalled the unity and valor shown by the Indian Army during the 1971 war, noting that BSF personnel continue this legacy in various roles, including disaster management, election security, and fighting insurgency in Naxal-affected areas and the Northeast. He highlighted “Operation Sindoor” as a prime example of India’s strong response to terrorism under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. This operation combined precise intelligence, political will, and military strength to target terrorist hideouts, avoiding damage to Pakistan’s military facilities. Shah emphasized that before 2014, India’s responses to Pakistan-backed terrorism were inadequate. Since the BJP-led government came to power, bold actions such as surgical strikes and airstrikes have been carried out to protect the nation. Operation Sindoor was launched in response to attacks on Indian soldiers and civilians. Amit Shah congratulated the BSF for their courage, dedication, and outstanding service to the nation, praising their role in safeguarding India’s borders and internal security.
