Three Key Mumbai Indians Players To Miss Playoffs

Mumbai Indians (MI) have officially sealed their place in the IPL 2025 playoffs, completing a remarkable turnaround under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya.

After losing their first four matches of the season, MI bounced back with a series of impressive wins to secure a top-four finish. However, just as the playoffs approach, the team has suffered a major setback - three of their key players will be unavailable after the league stage.

Three Key Players to Miss Playoffs

Mumbai's final league match is set to be played against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on May 26 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Following that game, Ryan Rickelton, Corbin Bosch, and Will Jacks will exit the squad due to national commitments.

Rickelton and Bosch have been called up to South Africa's squad for the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2025 against Australia. Meanwhile, Will Jacks will join England's ODI team for their upcoming three-match series against the West Indies.

MI Announce Replacements

In anticipation of the departures, Mumbai Indians have confirmed three replacements:

Jonny Bairstow (England) comes in for Rickelton.

Richard Gleeson (England) replaces Bosch.

Charith Asalanka (Sri Lanka) fills in for Jacks.

All three players are expected to join the squad ahead of the playoff matches, which begin on June 29.

Crucial Final League Match Against Punjab

Mumbai Indians (MI) will look to continue their winning momentum in their final league game against Punjab Kings (PBKS). A win would help them enter the playoffs with high confidence. However, facing a competitive side led by Shreyas Iyer won't be easy. MI will need a top-notch performance to maintain their rhythm and aim for a record-extending sixth IPL title.
