China and Turkey pay heavy price for supporting Pakistan, US is in…, know details here

New Delhi: The export of Indian engineering goods has made a good start in the financial year 2025-26. In April, there was an increase of 11.28%. This is much better compared to last year. There has been a significant increase in the shipment of goods to countries like the USA, UAE, UK, Singapore, Brazil, and Australia. In April 2025, the export of engineering goods from India was recorded at 9.51 billion dollars. In the same month last year, it was 8.55 billion dollars. There has been good growth in the export of engineering goods this April. In April, the export of engineering goods to the USA increased by 17% to reach 1.66 billion dollars. Last year, it was 1.42 billion dollars in the same month. The export to the UAE increased by 37.3% to 538.8 million dollars. In April 2024, it was 392.5 million dollars. This means that the demand for Indian engineering goods is increasing in the UAE.

The export of engineering goods has declined in some major markets like China, Turkey, Mexico, and Italy. The export of engineering goods to China decreased by 21.7% to 164.8 million dollars, down from 210.5 million dollars in April last year. This indicates a decrease in demand for Indian engineering goods in these countries. However, this matter is also being linked to Operation Sindoor, during which China and Turkey had aided Pakistan. Since then, India has toughened its stand on both countries.

Exports of engineering goods have been boosted by increased exports in all regions except Europe and the CIS. This remarkable performance has occurred at a time when trade is changing globally. There are political and economic changes happening in the world, which are also affecting trade.

India-UK Agreement

According to Engineering Exports Promotion Council (EEPC) India Chairman Pankaj Chadha, “Our exporters have achieved this growth despite several challenges, which is truly commendable. The support of the Indian government is very important during such difficult times. The India-UK free trade agreement is a significant step towards strengthening our position in the UK market. We hope to continue moving forward on this path of growth in the coming days.

North America remains the largest market, accounting for 21.1% of exports in April 2025. Following that is the European Union (17.4%) and West Asia and North Africa (14.1%). There was also good growth in exports in Oceania (36.4%), Sub-Saharan Africa (31.6%), and Latin America (27.2%). This shows that India’s engineering goods are being favoured in many parts of the world.
