Offering of namaz at disputed Sanjauli mosque opposed
People associated with various Hindu outfits today expressed objected to the members of the Muslim community offering prayers at the disputed Sanjauli mosque and warned that they would launch a mass protest if no action was taken in the matter. They recited ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ at Sanjauli in the presence of police personnel.
They alleged that while the Muslims were being allowed to visit the disputed structure to offer prayers, Hindus were being denied entry to the mosque and not allowed to recite ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ there. They accused the state government as well as the police of providing protection to the Muslims. “Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and the police do not want peace in the state. It is very unfortunate,” they added.
