Police conduct cordon-and-search operations

To make Kapurthala district crime-free, the police force headed by SSP Gaurav Toora has initiated cordon-and-search operations (CASO) in which senior police officials lead and conduct search operations on the ground level against snatchers, robbers, thieves and drug smugglers.

Accordingly, Phagwara Superintendent of Police Rupinder Kaur Bhatti along with Traffic in-charge Inspector Aman Kumar Daveshver, and SHO City, Usha Rani, conducted search operations at the Chajj Colony, bus stand and railway station in Phagwara, among other places.

SSP Toora said the exercise was being undertaken to assure the people that the police was always there for their safety and protection and that these search operations would put pressure on the miscreants and help curb crime.

SP Bhatti said that sensitive points were visited by the cops to convey the message loud and clear. SSP Toora said that the police department had geared up to crack the whip on the criminals.

He said that those indulging in criminal activities were on the radar of the police force and that they would not be spared. The drug smugglers were targeted and their properties were being attached by the government in a bid to wipe off the drug menace from Punjab, he added.
