Tiranga Yatra hails bravery of armed forces in Operation Sindoor
A Tiranga Yatra was taken out on Thursday evening in Phagwara to pay tribute to the valour and sacrifices of Indian soldiers amid recent escalations with Pakistan. The yatra also celebrated the reported success of Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam that claimed the lives of innocent Indian civilians.
The event was jointly organised by several social, political and religious organisations, including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Bharatiya Vikas Parishad (BVP), Shiv Sena and the BJP Mahila Morcha. It witnessed the participation of prominent leaders such as former Union Minister Som Parkash, former Punjab Minister Tikshan Sood, BJP leader Anita Som Parkash, Rakesh Rathore, district BJP president Ranjit Singh Khojewal, and former Mayor Arun Khosla. The procession, marked by patriotic fervour, began from the central town and concluded at Goal Chowk after winding through the main roads and bustling bazaars of Phagwara.
Addressing the gathering, Som Parkash hailed the successful execution of Operation Sindoor as a testament to the courage of India’s armed forces and the decisive leadership of PM Narendra Modi. “The success of the operation and the bravery shown by our soldiers are praiseworthy. This victory is a message to enemies of peace that India will not tolerate terrorism on its soil,” he said.
