China developing network of hypersonic drones, inventing smart swarm weapons, plan is to…, Should India be worried?

Hypersonic drone: Drones have become common in today’s era. Every country is using it. But, only a few countries have hypersonic missiles as the technology is complex. However, it will become common in the future. China has claimed to make hypersonic drones and is engaged in creating a smart swarm by connecting these hypersonic drones in a network. According to reports, China started this project to deal with the US challenge.

While doing new research on China’s hypersonic preparation drones, the search for such weapons has started that can attack simultaneously by connecting many unmanned combat air vehicles (drones) in a network. This technology is called swarm. This smart swarm is mentioned in a study by the Beijing Institute of Technology. Chinese scientists have started working on similar smart swarms. China is engaged in creating a smart swarm by connecting hypersonic UCAVs, which travel 5 times faster than the speed of sound inside the atmosphere, to a network. This smart swarm is more dangerous than a single missile. Although this hypersonic weapon will be slower than a ballistic missile, but due to its ability to fly at low altitude, it will be difficult to catch them through radar or any other means. Not only this, nuclear weapons can also be fired through these smart swarms.

US also working on similar project

America also started a similar program in 2017, which was named MSET i.e. Missile Multiple Simultaneous Engagement Technology. In this, many missiles can be used together to target different targets. According to experts, MSET is not a strategic system with a hypersonic missile, but it is a small-scale tactical system. Chinese scientists are preparing to create a similar swarm, but with hypersonic missiles.

Drones have changed the way of traditional warfare

India is also technically preparing itself for future warfare. The Indian Army has also incorporated swarming technology. HAL is also developing a more modern and long-range system on the same lines. The name of this system is CATS i.e. Combat Air Team System. This system can be operated from a single fighter with three different drones. The first drone system is CATS Warrior, the second is CATS Hunter and the third is CATS Alpha. However, the way China is engaged in enhancing its technology and is making itself stronger through the network of hypersonic drones, it can also be a matter of concern for India.
