Breaking: S. Jaishankar meets Germany’s Foreign Minister, discusses Indo-German ties and counterterrorism

India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar recently met with Germany’s Foreign Minister during his visit to Germany, where they discussed diplomatic relations and security issues. A key topic was the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, and India’s subsequent Operation Sindoor. Jaishankar made it clear that India has zero tolerance for terrorism and will never tolerate nuclear blackmail from Pakistan. When questioned about the incident in Pahalgam, Jaishankar emphasized that it was not a conflict but a terrorist attack carried out by Pakistan-backed militants targeting innocent civilians. He stressed that India will respond firmly if Pakistan attempts any aggression. Germany expressed its strong support for India’s stance, acknowledging India’s right to defend itself against terrorism. Jaishankar further clarified that the attack aimed to instill fear, harm Kashmir’s tourism industry, and create religious discord. He pointed out that framing such terrorist attacks as conflicts wrongly positions perpetrators as victims. India and Germany both underscored the importance of addressing terrorism firmly and bilaterally, without confusion or misinterpretation.
