Police arrested murder suspect linked to elderly woman’s death in Tamil Nadu's Salem

Salem police apprehended R Naresh Kumar, wanted for the murder of a 65-year-old woman, after he stabbed two officers near Sankari. Kumar, who has over 20 cases against him, including a 2020 murder, targeted elderly women. During the arrest attempt, police shot him in the leg when he refused to surrender. He is currently receiving treatment at Salem Government Hospital.
