Bye Bye Ramanagara, hello Bengaluru South! Karnataka renames district

Karnataka government has renamed Ramanagara district as 'Bengaluru South' to attract development and foreign investment, a move defended by DCM Shivakumar and CM Siddaramaiah. The decision, made under the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, aims to boost property values and create jobs, with Ramanagara remaining the district headquarters. HD Kumaraswamy criticized the renaming, alleging it's a real estate ploy.
