170 citizens screened for blood pressure at Sirsa Civil Hospital
On the occasion of World Hypertension Day, a health awareness programme was organised at the ANM Training School at Sirsa Civil Hospital. During the event, a team from the Municipal Corporation Department (MCD) conducted blood pressure and sugar tests for 170 citizens.
As part of the awareness drive, students of the ANM Training School creatively spread awareness by applying mehndi (henna) with messages related to blood pressure on their hands. The programme was held under the guidance of Civil Surgeon Dr Mahender Kumar Bhadu and was attended by Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Vipul Gupta.
During the event, DPC Dr Priyanka, Adolescent Counsellor Kamal Kakkar and staff nurses Geeta, Kavita and Binder educated attendees about the importance of a healthy lifestyle, balanced diet and regular health check-ups to prevent high blood pressure and related health issues.
Counsellor Kamal Kakkar also advised the students to include seasonal green vegetables, fruits and iron-rich foods in their diet to avoid weakness and anemia. He emphasised that everyone should get a routine health check-up once a month at their nearest health centre.
Other staff members, including Helper Neelam and several nurses, also participated in the programme, making it a successful awareness event for both the public and the students.
