Implement Central projects in time-bound manner: Paswan

Union Minister of State for Rural Development Kamlesh Paswan chaired a comprehensive review meeting at the Circuit House in Dalhousie to assess the progress of various Centrally-sponsored rural development schemes. He provided key directives to departmental officials to ensure timely and quality implementation of the projects.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Amit Mehra briefed the Union Minister on the progress made in the district of Chamba under flagship programs such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), and the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM).

Speaking on the occasion, Paswan emphasised that the core objective of the Central Government is to ensure that the benefits of its schemes directly reach the common people and to gather real-time feedback from the ground. He urged officials to work closely with beneficiaries and to implement projects in a time-bound manner without compromising on quality.

Earlier in the day, the minister interacted with beneficiaries of PMAY (Gramin), MGNREGA workers, and members of women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs) associated with NRLM. Women from various SHGs across the district shared their experiences and livelihood activities with the minister.

Paswan also visited an exhibition showcasing products made by SHG members. He appreciated the quality of the artificial jewelry, food items, and gift products on display and encouraged the women to scale up their businesses and explore broader commercial opportunities.
