Inter-departmental coordination key to fast-track projects: DC
Chairing an inter-departmental review meeting at the Multipurpose Hall in Kullu on Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner Torul S Raveesh directed all departments to enhance coordination and ensure the timely execution of development projects. She emphasised that delays often stem from a lack of synergy between departments and urged officials to work collaboratively.
During the meeting, officials said the Kasol MRF facility and the Rangdi waste management site would become operational soon. The DC instructed authorities concerned to expedite formalities for widening Urban Haat and Circuit House Road in Manali. She also reviewed key initiatives, including the Swachhata Abhiyan in Chichoga, construction of a footpath on Left Bank Road, development of a cycling track and progress on the hospital building in Banjar.
Stressing the importance of cleanliness, the DC asked for regular campaigns across government offices. She reviewed MLA priority works, compliance with NGT orders and progress on major infrastructure projects such as the Neuli and Bhuntar bridges, vendor markets, an indoor stadium in Bran and the Ayurvedic Hospital in Bajaura. She also called for a joint awareness campaign involving all departments.
Raveesh directed officials to strengthen e-learning operations in schools, accelerate the construction of a Blind School and MR House and ensure timely completion of all pending projects.
It was reported that Gau Sadans were operational in multiple locations, including Katrain, Patlikul, Bashing, Raison, Rangdi, Bandrol, Vaishno Mata Mandir and Lankabaker. She directed the Animal Husbandry Department and BDOs to expedite formalities for constructing additional facilities.
She also urged swift action on land transfers for pre-1980 schools and health centres, finalisation of the NCC hangar tender and faster progress on the Mini Secretariat and BDO office in Bhuntar.
