Work diligently to achieve their goals, former Patiala DC exhorts students
Under the School Mentorship Programme, Secretary, Information and Public Relations Department and Punjab Mandi Board, Ramvir, today interacted with students of the School of Eminence, Nabha, to identify their inner strengths and work diligently to achieve their goals.
Recalling his tenure as Deputy Commissioner of Patiala, Ramvir said he had visited nearly every village in the district and felt a deep connection with the students of the region. Urging them to ask questions and stay curious, he said, “Curiosity and inquiry are the first steps towards personality development and success.”
Several students shared their aspirations of joining civil services as Indian Administrative Service or PCS officers. Responding with practical advice, Ramvir emphasised the importance of cultivating discipline, such as waking up early-and balancing academics with sports to remain physically and mentally fit, saying, “There are limitless opportunities waiting for you.”
“But achieving them requires firm determination, consistent hard work, and the willingness to step out of your comfort zone,” he added.
Sharing one of his personal anecdote, he recalled walking 10 km to school during a bus strike in 1991, driven by an inner motivation that still fuels his journey today.
“That same strength has brought me to where I am,” he said, encouraging students to harness their own inner drive.
