Amit terms ethical AI models as pillars of eGov

JAMMU, May 24: Amit Sharma, Secretary to the Government of Mizoram, Information & Communications Technology (ICT) and Cooperation Departments today mentioned the Ethical Artificial Intelligence (AI) models as the pillars of eGovernance.
Sharma was addressing during Digital Uttar Pradesh Conclave organsied by the Times of India group in UP.
On the inaugural session of this conclave, Jitin Prasada, Minister of State for Information Technology, Government of India was the chief guest and Brajesh Pathak, Deputy Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh was the guest of honour.
Amit Sharma in his address appreciated that the lead taken by Uttar Pradesh in launching UP AI Pragya Yojana, but he expressed alongside that ethical AI models should be adopted while implementing same so as to ensure its total success for the benefit of public in this biggest state of the nation.
He also disclosed that Mizoram is also encouraging AI implementation in a big way and the latest example of same is the Bhashini model, for real-time conversion of vernacular language to English/Hindi languages and vice versa, for which an MoU shall be inked very soon in the near future and all possibilities are also being explored for AI-Certification of employees of Mizoram through virtual courses being offered by top global giants in this domain.
Among others who joined Amit in this all-important Panel talk included Kumar Vineet, Managing Director, UP Cooperative Sugar Factories Federation Ltd, Dr Arun Mohan Sherry, director, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Lucknow, Dr Upasana Arora, Chairperson, CII Uttar Pradesh & MD, Yashoda Super Specialty Hospitals, who echoed their views and this talk was moderated by Mohita Tewari, Principal correspondent, The Times of India.
