Man killed by wife, son, body dumped near fields
The Jalandhar (Rural) police today solved the murder case of a Boparai village resident whose body was found by the roadside near corn fields at Bara Pind on Friday. The deceased had sustained serious injuries inflicted with a sharp weapon. The police said the man was murdered by his own son and wife and his body abandoned beside fields at Bara Pind.
Kartarpur DSP Vijay Kanwar Pal said on May 23, the police during patrolling received information about body of Jasvir Singh, a resident of Boparai, Bholath, lying near a road beside open corn fields. Kartarpur SHO Ramandeep Singh visited village of the deceased and recorded statement of his mother Sewa Kaur. The SHO said Sewa Kaur told the police that her own daughter-in-law and grandson had murdered her son.
The police registered a case against Gurvinder Singh, alias Ginda, son of Jasvir Singh, and Nachattar Kaur, wife of Jasvir Singh, both residents of Boparai village on basis of Sewa Kaur’s statement. Both the accused were arrested immediately.
The police said there were regular bitter fights at the victim’s home. An altercation on Friday between the victim, his wife and son on Friday led to his murder. During fight, Gurvinder and Nachattar Kaur attacked Jasvir with a daat (sharp weapon), following which he died. The SHO said the duo wrapped victim’s face with a polythene, covered his body with a sack and loaded it in a car. They dropped victim’s body near fields at Bara Pind, he said.
