PBKS' Top 2 Hopes Dented After Crucial Defeat To DC In Jaipur
IPL 2025 Playoffs Scenario: Delhi Capitals disrupt the winning momentum of Punjab Kings by handing them a crushing 6-wicket defeat in their IPL 2025 fixture at the Sawai Manshingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday, May 24.
With the result, the Shreyas Iyer-led side have now lost the chance to seal a Top 2 finish whilst the fate being in their own hands. PBKS' last league game will be against Mumbai Indians, who are themselves eyeing a Top 2 spot.
Whereas for DC, they end their IPL 2025 campaign on a high with 15 points, and will be looking to bounce back next year.
"It feels very good. I have worked hard for the past 2-3 months in the nets. I have got the feedback about my game from the coaches as well. So, yeah, feels good. I didn't have the confidence about doing well in the IPL before this innings. Now, I have the confidence to play well in this league and win a game for my team," said Sameer Rizvi, who was awarded the Player of the Match.
"When I walked out to the middle, we needed over 100 runs in 50-60 balls. First, I wanted to have a look at how the pitch was playing, used 4-5 balls to get set. The wicket looked good and I played my shots," he added.
