Meet actress who rejected Rs 600 crore offer, quit industry at 32, now she is married to.., her name is

In the glitzy and glamorous world of Bollywood, many actors come with a dream of making it big on the silver screen, but there are rarely a few who actually captivate the hearts of millions and earn stardom. Today, we are talking about one such actress who not only won hearts with her million-dollar dimple smile but also ruled the box office and became famous for her integrity and courage.

Back in the era of the early 2000s, when Rani Mukerji, Aishwarya Rai, Kareena Kapoor, and Kajol were some of the leading actresses of Bollywood, a fresh face came and took everyone by storm. From her dimple smile, girl-next-door vibe to her impeccable acting, she quickly became one of the top actresses of the 2000s,

The actress we are talking about is none other than the dimpled girl, Preity Zinta. Being one of the biggest names in the industry in the early 2000s,  Preity was one of the most bankable female stars at that time. She entered the industry when she was 22 in the year 1997 with Mani Ratnam’s film Dil Se.  But later it was Soldier and Dil Se that rose her to fame. After this, she appeared in films like Dil Chahta Hai, Kal Ho Na Ho, Veer Zara, and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. However, she bid adieu to the industry at the age of 32 when she was at the peak of her career. However, she tried making a comeback in the year 2013-14 with the films Ishq in Paris and Happy Ending, but it didn’t quite meet the expectations.

However, besides Priety’s professional success, there was a story that showed her strength, courage, and integrity. Back in 2001, when the entire Bollywood was loomed with underworld’s threat, Preity stood her ground and testified against gangster Choota Shakeel in the Chori Chori Chupke Chupke extortion case, stating that she was threatened and demanded Rs. 50 lakhs, but at the time when most remained silent, Preity refused to give in and informed the audience. Her courage at 26 not only established her as a great actress but also as a woman of immense courage.

In 2011, another incident happened that showed Preity Zinta’s integrity and strong grounds. Filmmaker Shaandar Amrohi, son of Kamal Amrohi, openly announced his wish to append Zinta’s name in the will for his 600 crore estate. he really admired Preity and considered her his daughter. Despite this whopping offer, Zinta turned down this amount, stating she wouldn’t like to reap benefits from someone else’s legacy. This strong-headed decision of Zinta declared her a woman of strong principles.

Even though Preity’s magical charm in the industry came to a halt at the age of 32, she is all set to make her comeback with Lahore 1947. Today, Zinta’s net worth is 150 crores and she own the IPL team Punjab Kings. She is married to Gene Goodnough and splits between the U.S. and India
