Governor stresses value-based & inclusive education

Governor Bandaru Dattatreya on Sunday virtually addressed the Prantiya Acharya Conference of the Vidya Bharti, held at Samalkha in Panipat.

In his keynote address as the chief guest at the event, Dattatreya emphasised the critical importance of value-based and inclusive education that aligns with the evolving needs of industry and the challenges of the future.

Addressing a gathering of educators, academic leaders and scholars, he said education must go beyond rote learning.

“It should nurture ethical values, critical thinking and a spirit of innovation among students,” he said.

He underscored the necessity of an education system that was inclusive, accessible and adaptive to socio-economic diversity.

Referring to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to make India a developed nation by 2047, the Governor said “Today’s students must be prepared not only with academic knowledge but also with moral integrity, social responsibility and future-ready skills to meet the dynamic demands of the global workforce,” he said.

Dattatreya called upon educators to serve as role models and facilitators of holistic development, guiding students with compassion and wisdom. The Governor praised the state government, led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, stating that it had placed extra attention on the education sector and earmarked adequate funds for school and higher education, and skill development.

“The state government is enhancing school infrastructure, integrating digital learning tools and providing scholarships to meritorious students. Efforts are being made to give a boost to vocational training programmes and employment-oriented initiatives,” he said.

The Governor lauded the efforts of institutions like Vidya Bharti for fostering dialogue on educational reforms and promoting teacher excellence.

He said such platforms were essential for building a resilient and forward-looking academic ecosystem in the country.

The Governor said the conference brought together academic stakeholders from across the region to deliberate on the best practices in education, pedagogical innovations and policy alignment with national education goals.

“Such deliberations will go a long way in implementing the National Education Policy-2020 in letter and spirit,” he said.
