Anti-Drug Yatra reaches 9 villages in Kapurthala

As part of the government’s ongoing campaign to eradicate drug abuse, the ‘Nasha Mukti Yatra’ reached nine more villages in Kapurthala district today.

The villages covered included Mangupur, Sujo Kalia, Boorewal, Darvesh Pind, Kahlwan, Khullpur, Thigli, Ucha Pind and Jagatpur Jattan. Residents in these villages pledged their commitment to fight against drug addiction and support the government’s efforts toward a drug-free Punjab. The yatra was led by prominent local leaders in different constituencies.

In the Kapurthala constituency, District Planning Board Chairman Lalit Saklani spearheaded the march. In Sultanpur Lodhi, the campaign was led by Sajjan Singh Cheema, Chairman of the Kapurthala Urban Improvement Trust. Harnur Singh Harjee Mann, spokesperson of the Aam Aadmi Party, led the initiative in the Phagwara constituency.

As part of the awareness drive, informative literature highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse was distributed among the public, along with specially designed T-shirts promoting the anti-drug message. The campaign continues to receive strong community support as it moves forward, reinforcing the collective resolve to eliminate the drug menace from Punjab.
