Film Harmukh launched in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 26: Marking a landmark moment in the cinematic history of Kashmir, the much-anticipated feature film Harmukh had its official launch today with the unveiling of its songs, trailer, and print material.
The event, held in Srinagar, was a celebration of cultural pride and artistic achievement-especially as Harmukh stands as the first-ever feature film made in both Kashmiri and Kannada languages.

Addressing the gathering, Ayash Arif, producer and lead actor of Harmukh, described the film as “a dream, a bridge, and a bond” between Kashmir and Karnataka. He highlighted its core message of friendship beyond borders, depicting the emotional journey of two families from different cultures who grow to love and understand one another. At its heart, the film is a tribute to unity, empathy, and the power of human connection.

The music and songs of Harmukh are deeply captivating, resonating with the soul of the story and enhancing its emotional depth. The trailer, marked by cinematic excellence, offers a powerful glimpse into the film’s compelling narrative and visual richness. The performances by the entire cast appear heartfelt and authentic, promising a memorable cinematic experience.
Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the Chief Minister, while addressing the gathering, emphasized the importance of sharing Kashmir’s true essence with the world. “There is a tremendous need to portray the hospitality, warmth, and humanity of Kashmir to the global audience,” he said. “Harmukh appears to do exactly that – beautifully capturing the cultural richness and compassionate spirit that define our land.”
Later, the audience was treated to a captivating performance by renowned folk artist Fayaz Shilvati, whose soulful rendition added a vibrant cultural touch to the event. His performance beautifully reflected the rich musical heritage of Kashmir, leaving the audience deeply moved and immersed in the spirit of the Valley.
In the concluding moments of the event, Zahoor Zahid, the Production Designer of Harmukh, extended heartfelt thanks to the audience for their presence and support.
“I would also like to acknowledge and appreciate Ashok Cashyap, the visionary writer and director of this film, whose powerful story has brought together the soul of Kashmir and the heart of Karnataka,” he said. “Sir, your work has gifted us a narrative that speaks the universal language of humanity and love.”
