The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that heavy to very heavy rains will continue in Kerala, Karnataka, coastal Maharashtra and Goa during the next 6-7 days. The department has also predicted extremely heavy rains in Kerala.

The IMD said that the meteorological conditions are favorable for further advance of monsoon into the remaining parts of Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

Along with this, monsoon can also enter the remaining parts of Northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and some parts of Sikkim in the next three days.

The Meteorological Department has urged people to remain alert and take necessary precautions, especially in areas where there is a high risk of heavy rains.

The administration has also been advised to be prepared to deal with waterlogging and other inconveniences due to rain.

This time, the activity and rapid progress of the monsoon is expected to benefit farmers and water resources, but at the same time, there is a need to be cautious about the problems caused by heavy rains.
