Rs 20,000 reward for arrest of two Haryana cops, middleman in bribery case
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has announced a reward of Rs 20,000 each for information leading to the arrest of three absconders in a bribery case linked to Hisar’s CIA-2 unit.
The wanted individuals include ASI Sandeep Sihag, SI Narsi, and middleman Ramesh Dhaka, all of whom are accused of extortion and corruption and have been on the run.
According to police sources, four people have already been arrested in the case so far — including Inspector Kapil Sihag, then incharge of CIA-2, along with Constables Ajay and Richhpal. Another accused, Constable Sandeep, was arrested by the ACB on May 25, remanded for interrogation, and sent to jail today.
The case stems from a complaint filed by Aman, a petrol pump owner from Litani village, who alleged that he was kidnapped and threatened by CIA-2 personnel demanding a bribe.
The incident occurred on October 24, 2024, when ACB officials, acting on Aman’s complaint, raided a location in Sector 1-4, Hisar, and caught Richhpal red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 5.80 lakh.
As per the complaint, Aman was forcibly taken in a government vehicle and threatened with false criminal charges if he failed to pay up. Soon after, Richhpal, a fellow resident of Litani village, approached him as an intermediary and claimed that he had “settled” the matter with the police officers for a total of Rs 17.50 lakh.
Following his arrest, Richhpal named several officials involved in the extortion racket, leading to a wider crackdown and subsequent arrests.
