‘Chai pe charcha’ at tea stalls, Cong comes with unique idea
City’s political scene in the West constituency is abuzz with activities as the date for the bypoll has been announced. Discussions and debates have now become a regular part in the segment.
When political frenzy is at its highest, ‘Chai pe charcha’ is bound to happen.

Congress candidate Bharat Bhushan Ashu has managed to become the topic for discussion as supporters have got paper tea cups printed with his picture and the election symbol. A few tea stall owners are serving tea in these cups. Whether the person wants to start a political discussion or not, it is initiated automatically after seeing the cup.
A tea stall owner in busy lanes of Ghumar Mandi was seen pouring tea in such cups.
“A few days ago, some Congress supporters came and gave me these cups and I didn’t mind as I need them daily. Hence, I am serving tea in these cups,” he said.
He added that he had observed one thing that after seeing the tea cup, his customers initiate their talk related to politics and start discussing the political scene.
“On Monday, two friends started a debate, which went a little longer and in between, they consumed three cups of tea each. Hence, it proved beneficial for me too,” he said.
City resident Randhir Khanna said he saw a tea seller near Baba Balak Nath temple serving tea in cups with Congress candidate’s picture and party symbol printed on them. “The idea is unique and has definitely become the topic of discussion,” he said.
