Delhi witnessing revival, will release 100-day report card on May 31, says Rekha
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday said Delhi is undergoing a much-needed revival in governance and development under her leadership, as her government nears its 100th day in office. Speaking at a felicitation ceremony organised by Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, Delhi University, Gupta thanked the people of the Capital for placing their trust in the new administration.
“Now, Delhi has a government which works for the people. I want to thank the people of the city for electing us,” she said. “With your faith and our efforts, we have been able to set many things right over the past few months. Projects and schemes that had stalled are finally being implemented.”
Gupta emphasised the positive impact of coordination between the central and state governments. “Delhi is receiving the full benefit of a double-engine government. Central schemes that were previously delayed or ignored are now reaching the people,” she added.
The Chief Minister announced that her government will release a detailed report card on May 31 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, showcasing the initiatives and progress made during the first 100 days of her tenure.
She was joined at the event by Minister for Environment, Food Supplies and Industry, Manjinder Singh Sirsa. Taking a dig at the previous AAP government, Sirsa said, “We have done in 100 days what they couldn’t do in 10 years. The victims of the 1984 riots, who waited decades for justice and support, have now received job opportunities under our administration.”
The event also saw Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) president Harmeet Singh Kalka honour Chief Minister Gupta for her commitment to welfare measures. “It is wonderful that the Chief Minister, who has worked for the people of Delhi for 30 years, is now leading the state. We appreciate the efforts made towards fulfilling the promise of giving jobs to the kin of the 1984 riot victims,” Kalka said.
Sirsa was also recognised at the event, with Kalka calling him a strong representative of Delhi’s two-million-strong Sikh community. DSGMC general secretary Jagdeep Singh Kahlon was present as well.
