Almost an year ago, the Awami League government led by Sheikh Hasina was overthrown in a coup. Replaced by the Muhammad Yunus led interim government, Bangladesh is yet to vote in an election as of May, 2025. However, before the Bangladesh coup completes an year, a terrorist leader of Lashkar-e-Taiba has reportedly claimed of toppling the Hasina government. In addition to this claim, the terrorist has also threatened India with war.
According to this, Muzammil Hazmi, a leader of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a UN designated terrorist has claimed that Lashkar-e-Taiba had a major role in overthrowing the Hasina government in Bangladesh.
“We defeated you in Bangladesh last year…Modi, you know that we have defeated you in Bangladesh…you also know that in the month of May, if you carried out blasts on 11 May, we carried out blasts on 28 May…you came in the night of history on 7 May, we came in broad daylight on 10 May…we are going to give a reply…we are giving a reply…listen to our message…if you come to the battlefield, we will come to the battlefield..”, the Lashkar terrorist was quoted as saying by a report by the report.
Former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina’s last words before her ouster
In a significant development, the last words before former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was forced to resign have been revealed. As per a report by IANS news agency, as the Bangladeshi military compelled former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to resign after a violent student uprising last year, she erupted at the officials and demanded they shoot and bury her at her official residence, Ganabhaban.

Hasina, who sought refuge in India, is currently facing over 100 cases ranging from mass murder to corruption after she fled Bangladesh following the massive student-led movement that resulted in the collapse of her 16-year rule under the Awami League.
