UDHAMPUR, May 30: State Bank of India (SBI) handed over a Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) claim of Rs 2 lakh to the nominee of a deceased policyholder at a special function organized at the Panchari branch. The cheque was handed over to Rita Devi, wife of late Jugal Kishore, by former Sarpanch Kuldeep Kumar in the presence of several dignitaries and local residents.
The event was graced by Ravinder Singh, Regional Manager of SBI, who served as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, Singh highlighted the significance of Government-backed social security schemes such as PMJJBY, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and the Atal Pension Yojana (APY). He encouraged people to enroll in these affordable insurance and pension schemes to secure their future and that of their families.
Branch Manager of SBI Panchari, Rajinder Kumar, also addressed the attendees, emphasizing the importance of financial literacy and digital awareness. He pointed out that a lack of knowledge about simple digital and cashless transaction methods continues to hinder access to Government schemes and banking services for many people. Kumar urged the public to take advantage of the initiatives offered by the Government of India and the State Bank of India to improve their financial well-being.
The event aimed to not only disburse the claim amount but also spread awareness about the accessibility and benefits of social security schemes, reaffirming SBI’s commitment to public welfare and financial inclusion.
