Governor to open Shimla Summer Festival on June 1

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla will be inaugurating the International Summer Festival in Shimla to held at the historic Ridge from June 1 to 5. The first cultural evening of the festival will feature the performance of renowned singer Nidhi Rastogi, who will be the main attraction of the event. Additionally, performances by students from various schools as well as local artists will also be held during the inaugural evening of the event. A spokesperson for the state government said that cultural troupes from three states, Haryana, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir, would perform under the banner of the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Patiala. He mentioned that this year, the themes of the festival were around the ‘Drive Against Drugs’ and ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao. As part of this initiative, a grand Maha Nati (traditional Himachali dance) will be organised at 4 pm on June 1 in front of the police reporting room at The Mall.
