Kerala HC allows Transgender couple to use gender-neutral ‘parent’ in birth certificate

In a landmark ruling, the Kerala High Court has allowed India's first transgender parents to be identified as 'parents' on their child's birth certificate, replacing the traditional 'father' and 'mother' designations. Justice A A Ziyad Rahman's order came after Zahhad, a trans man who gave birth, and Ziya Paval petitioned the court.
