Haasan, known for his rationalist and non-violent ideology, has previously voiced strong opposition to political symbolism rooted in aggression or showmanship. The incident also comes in the heels of row over Kamal Haasan's Kannada language remark. The actor-politician during the audio launch of his recent movie 'Thug Life' said that 'Kannada was born out of Tamil', which evoked mixed reactions in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. While several Tamil politicians came in support of the actor, he drew the ire of Kannada speaking population.
As a result, 'Thug Life' movie did not release in Karnataka and the matter is currently being heard by the court.
