Diarrhoea Outbreak Claims Two More Lives in Jajpur

Bhubaneswar: Two more deaths due to diarrhoea in Jajpur’s Vyasanagar area have raised the district’s death toll to 13, a health official said Wednesday.
The patients, admitted in critical condition with severe dehydration, died within 30 minutes. Jajpur reported 37 new cases, with 196 patients under treatment.
Tests confirmed cholera in 16 of 49 samples. The outbreak, starting June 9, has spread to Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, and Cuttack.
A central team is coordinating with state officials, while food and water quality checks intensify in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, as per reports.
