Tatya Vinchu Calls Himself 'OG' Amidst Labubu Doll Craze; Video Goes Viral
Remember Tatya Vinchu? The spine-chilling puppet from the 1993 Marathi horror-comedy 'Zapatlela' who gave the audience nightmares with just three words — "Om Phat Swaha"? Well, he's back — and this time, he's got something to say about the latest doll obsession sweeping social media: Labubu.
As Labubu dolls fly off shelves and flood Instagram reels with their cutesy chaos, the creators of Tatya Vinchu have released an Instagram reel reminding everyone who really started the horror doll scenes in India.
The video starts on a thunderous note — quite literally — setting the stage for Tatya's dramatic talk.

"Tatya Vinchu is the OG"
Speaking in Marathi, the iconic doll says, "Now this crazy Labubu is trending on the internet. What fear can this doll even bring? Many like it will come and go, but remember — Tatya Vinchu is the OG (original)." He ends, of course, with his legendary frightening dialogue: “Om Phat Swaha.”
The reel is more than just a throwback — it sounds like mic drop moment from a true horror icon, reminding people to not forget him amidst the Labubu trend.
Directed by Mahesh Kothare, Zapatlela gave India its very own horror-fuelled puppet like the Western world's Annabelle.
Voiced by veteran actor Dilip Prabhavalkar and operated by master ventriloquist Ramdas Padhye, Tatya Vinchu left a permanent mark on the collective memory of 90s kids — especially in Marathi households.
Tatya's recent video brought it back to the spotlight. So while Labubu might be the trend of the hour, Tatya Vinchu is made it clear that he's the "OG of horror dolls."
