Three arrested for murder bid on vendor in Burail
The police have arrested three youths in connection with an attempt-to-murder case reported from Burail village. The accused have been identified as Akash Verma, alias Ganja (21); Monu (19) and Ankit, alias Tamator (19).
The Sector 34 police registered the case under Sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in March on a complaint filed by 22-year-old Aditya, alias Krish, who is a street food vendor.
In his complaint, Aditya said he was returning home when a group of youths confronted him in Burail and demanded money. Upon his refusal, the group, including the three arrested youths, assaulted him. Akash reportedly drew a sharp weapon and inflicted multiple blows to the victim’s head, forehead and legs. Aditya was rescued by his uncle and a friend.
All three suspects were produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
The police said Akash had two FIRs related to arms possession and one snatching case already registered against him. Further investigation into the case is underway.
