Shah Rukh Khan's 'King' adds Jaideep Ahlawat: 'SRK sir always made me feel important,' says the 'Paatal Lok' actor

The cast list of Shah Rukh Khan's King just got more stellar. Actor Jaideep Ahlawat, known for his critically acclaimed performances in two seasons of Paatal Lok and films such as Three of Us, Jaane Jaan, and Gangs of Wasseypur, has confirmed his involvement in the Siddharth Anand directorial.

During an interaction on the channel The Lallantop, the actor said he learned Shah Rukh Khan had been considering calling him for a while, but Siddharth was slightly hesitant given the duration of the role. However, the prospect of saying no to SRK was unthinkable, and he agreed. This would mark Jaideep's second collaboration with Siddharth after Jewel Thief: The Diamond Heist, which was produced by the filmmaker and co-starred Saif Ali Khan.

Jaideep added that SRK is the sort of person who made him feel like he is the "closest" person. "He’s a wonderful human being with some amazing qualities. Every time I’ve met him, he has made me feel important," says the actor, who previously worked with SRK in Raees. While it's not yet known what kind of role Jaideep will play in the film, there were earlier reports of the actor in talks to play one of the antagonists.

King reportedly features Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Raghav Juyal, Anil Kapoor, Suhana Khan and Saurabh Shukla. The makers haven't made an official announcement on the complete cast. But all the buzz seems to hint that this is Siddharth's biggest film yet. The director is currently a hot property in Bollywood, given his recent consecutive hits with Pathaan, War, and Fighter.
