Yogandhra Celebrated Across 61,266 Schools, Bringing Together 60 Lakh Participants Statewide

Amaravati: As part of International Yoga Day celebrations, Andhra Pradesh's School Education Department organised Yogandhra across 61,266 schools, engaging nearly 60 lakh participants statewide.

The month-long Yogandhra campaign launched on May 21 as a lead up to the International Yoga day featured a series of yoga activities and culminated in statewide commemorations on Saturday.

Students, teachers, parents, and school management committee members actively took part in yoga demonstrations in both government and private schools, marking a significant step in holistic education.

"Mass participation across thousands of schools highlights our commitment to student well-being," said State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha, B Srinivasa Rao in a press release late on Saturday.

Rao said such large-scale yoga initiatives were aimed at promoting mental, physical, and emotional health, embedding wellness into daily school life.

The School Education Department emphasised continued focus on holistic development and community participation, aligning with India's broader Yoga Day mission and education goals.
