Iran Warns Donald Trump After Israeli Strikes Kill 950 Iranians
The United States, using its B‑2 Spirit stealth bombers, joined Israel in the largest Western military operation against the Islamic Republic since its 1979 revolution when it bombed Tehran’s strategic nuclear sites, setting the stage for Iran’s retaliation. US President Donald Trump urged Tehran to back off after the US fired 30,000‑pound bunker‑buster bombs over the mountain above Iran’s Fordow nuclear plant, prompting Iran to threaten US bases in the Middle East and promise self‑defense. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s adviser, Ali Akbar Velayati, warned that US military bases could be attacked in reprisal.
“Any country in the region or elsewhere that is used by American forces to strike Iran will be considered a legitimate target for our armed forces,” In a statement distributed by the official IRNA news agency, he stated.
The United States issued a “worldwide caution” for Americans on Sunday in response to the Iranian threat, stating that the Middle East turmoil may heighten the security risk for people who travel or reside overseas. In a security notice, the US State Department stated that “the Department of State advises US citizens worldwide to exercise increased caution” and that “there is the potential for demonstrations against US citizens and interests abroad.”
Meanwhile, Israel and Iran resumed their barrage of missile strikes on Monday. Israeli fighter jets have hit military targets in western Iran, according to a military spokesperson for Israel. Earlier, Iran launched missiles into Tel Aviv that destroyed structures and injured numerous people.
