Reckless Driving On Mumbai-Goa Highway Leads To 1 Death, 3 Critical Injuries Near Khamb Village In Raigad
Mumbai: A resident of Thane, Aaditya Verma (38), lost his life and 3 others suffered serious injuries when their vehicle collided with the back of a parked trailer on the Mumbai Goa highway around 1:30 am on Tuesday.
The incident occurred in Khamb village of Raigad and is believed to have resulted from the driver falling asleep and low visibility during the monsoon. The passengers in the car were heading home after exploring tourist attractions in Chiplun, Ratnagiri.
Kolad police have registered a case against the car driver, Siddhesh Shinde, for reckless and negligent driving resulting in death and injuries under the pertinent sections of the BNS and Motor Vehicle Act.
The other two have been named as Nilesh Radhani (25) and Amit Karpe. The trailer was situated across from a gas station. Unlawful parking has surged along the highway segment, leading to an increase in accidents.
\A vehicle crashed into a trailer parked near an HP petrol station in the Khamb region on the Mumbai-Goa highway at approximately 1:30 am on Monday, leading to one fatality and three critical injuries. The individual who passed away was identified as Aditya Deepu Verma, a 38-year-old from Thane.
Among the injured were 25-year-old Nilesh Radhani and 26-year-old Siddhed Yogesh Shinde, both hailing from Kalyan, as well as Amit Vijay Karpe, the complainant, who is also from Kalyan West.
As per the complaint lodged at Kolad police station, the vehicle with registration MH 05/EA 2505 was en route from Chiplun to Kalyan when it collided with the stationary trailer (MH 46/BU 4014). Kolad police inspector Nitin Mohite reached the location quickly, with nearby rescue teams helping the victims. A case has been filed, and additional inquiries are being conducted by Posai Gaikwad under the guidance of Nitin Mohite.
